Now and Zen ... Bro Sis Wknd in DC!

i made a last minute trip to DC over the wknd to visit Bud.  the next few wks might be rough for him w field exercises, so i decided i had to go.

though rain was forecasted for both saturday and sunday (even thunderstorms), we managed to have a great time together.  on saturday we walked around the mall and visited the american history museum.  for din, we met up with his buddy anthony and his fiance, at Sakana for sushi.  And on Sunday, after a good night's sleep at the Capital Hilton, we ventured out to the Navy memorial, stopped by Teaism and brunched at Cafe Atlantico.  Thanks for treating me to all three meals!  Much love ♥

PS my dress isnt really purple, but i wanted to pretend i had worn a purple dress!!

Kyotofu and Xai Xai

Jenny swung by after a Philly school trip visit.  We had dinner Sunday night together at Kyotofu (warm mushroom salad, pre-fixe menu, silken tofu, green tea creme brulee), where everything was so delicate and delicious.

Afterwards, we met up with our other friends from ibk training at Xai Xai, an African vino bar.

Pics taken w pocket cam, which I havent used in a very long time!

Walking Around Chinatown, New York

Being a part the grand jury for the last two weeks, I've spent most of my lunch hours walking around Chinatown as the courts are located just west of it.  I've become much more familiar with the different diverse parts - and throughout the two weeks have purchased seasonal strawberries and mangoes, aloe vera drinks and paper wrapped sponge cakes!

Some Food at Jimmy's 43

Thursday night, I went to visit Rich while he was working at Jimmy's 43.  I watched him prepare small plates and large plates and shuck oysters.  The East Village always attracts a variety of characters, and on Thursday night Oyster Night, this joint on E7th Street didnt disappoint!
