Erika and Craig Marry :: New York City Hall Wedding

One of my favorite city hall weddings ever - totally biased - was Erika and Craig's.  Of course, E has been my close pal since seventh grade.  We grew up together, and over time, have generated quite a few memorable stories.  I'll always remember early on so instantly after they started to date, I told her, Craig is the right guy for you! 

And on a special Friday in June, Mr. Moustache man at city hall married the sweet couple.  Erika wore a classic Theory dress ... one we had shopped for together in the Upper West Side a few years back.  At the time, as she tried to justify the price at the checkout, she said, "I can definitely wear this to a wedding" - little did she know it would be her own!

Southern Couple (SoCo!) :: New York City Hall Wedding Photography

I had such a terrific and fullsome day yesterday.  In the afternoon I photographed, Monica and Hugh, a couple from the South, who decided to trek up north to marry at City Hall.  The weight time was somewhat substantial (a last chance before the week ends to marry rush?), but we managed to do so much in a short amount of time.  I loved talking to Monica about vintage necklaces, freelance writing and hot dogs.  And Hugh remained cool and collected the entire time, and would even quote Zoolander.

College Sweeties from Ireland :: New York City Hall Wedding Photography

On Friday, I photographed Louise and Kieran's sweet city hall wedding.  Theyre college sweethearts from Ireland - and decided to marry in New York (it's apparently less hassle to do it here than in Ireland where you would have to take off a Tuesday etc.)  Despite a few hurdles in the morning (the subway I was on had smoke and everyone had to evacuate!), the session turned out smoothly and we shot portraits nearby and in Grand Central.  They have such a couplely look that on the day prior when they were walking aimlessly around city hall, an local immediately gave them directions to city hall (knowing they were in search of it  to marry!).

From London With Love :: New York City Hall Wedding Photography

This couple is so international - the bride is from Indiana and the groom from New Zealand, they live in London and decide to marry in New York!  They were so cute and purchased red velvet cupcakes before we headed down to city hall.  City Hall was incredibly packed on a Friday morning, but we managed to cover a lot of ground in a few hours.  The portraits were all taken downtown, by city hall and brooklyn bridge ... even though some have the illusion of a nice park outside of the city :-)!
